Day 154 - God’s Presence is Sufficient

Read: Psalm 119:113-120; Proverbs 3:11-13; Hebrews 7; Judges 5-6


Psalm 119:114 You are my hiding place and my shield….

Judges 6:12 & 16
12 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, "The Lord IS WITH YOU, you mighty man of valour!"
16 And the Lord said to him, "Surely I WILL BE WITH YOU, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”


If we notice from the verses above, the assurance that God gave to Gideon is just His presence. Emmanuel. Even in Psalms 119:14, the Psalmist just went to God as his hiding place and shield. And that is enough to me and in fact, more than enough, without which, I will not venture anything IF GOD IS NOT WITH ME. Same with Moses - when he was asked by God to go to the Promised Land - he insisted on ONE thing only i.e. that God must go with him (Exodus 35:15). God’s presence is the most important of all! Dear friends, long and desire God’s presence. The promise is already given - “Come near to God and He will come near to you” (James 4:8). We must take the first step to come to God. Day 190 - Enjoy God! Read Psalm 148; Proverbs 7:4-6; Revelation 9; 2 Samuel 21-22 2 Samuel 22 v30 - By God, I can run against a troop and by my God, I can leap over a wall v33 - God is my strength and power! He makes my way perfect! Reading the above verses warmed my heart as I recalled the sweet victory I had as I trusted God when He assured me exactly with the above verses way back in 1994 when I did my Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP). It was the first day of exam and my Quiet Time for that day turned out to be reading the above verses. What a joy! What an assurance! I knew by God and with God, I could leap over CLP examination and would cross over the challenge and would pass to do my chambering. True enough, I passed and started my chambering in 1995. All glory to God! Hence, how important for us to keep reading God's Words as our loving Heavenly Father is so eager to speak and communicate with us. Day 69: Psalm 49, Proverbs 25:4-6, 1 Corinthians 5, Genesis 49-50 Do Our Utmost For His Highest Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control.
