Day 173 - God Empowers Us
Read: Psalm 131; Proverbs 5:7-9; 2 Peter 3; 1 Samuel 18-19

2 Peter 3
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

The concept of notice is critical to the integrity of legal proceedings. Due process requires that legal action cannot be taken against anyone unless the requirements of notice and an opportunity to be heard are observed. Henceforth, our beloved Jesus Who will return to judge the world including Christians has done His part to give us DUE NOTICE. From the pages of Bible, we have been notified many times that Jesus will come back to judge (v11) and we are reminded times and again to live a holy and Godly life and to make an effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him (v14). Be eternally thankful that we are now living in the period of grace. 1 John 1:9 says that "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Also bear in mind the notice given in Hebrews 10:26 "If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God." Let us go near to God (James 4:8) and draw strength from Him to enable us to live a life worthy of His calling (Colossians 1:10). Go to church today. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC #GodWillHelp #GodGivesStrength #Judgement #Thankful #Grace
