Day 169 - New Malaysia Reborn
Read: Psalm 127; Proverbs 4:22-24; 1 Peter 4; 1 Samuel 10-11

1 Samuel 10
25 Samuel explained to the people the rights and duties of kingship. He wrote them down on a scroll and deposited it before the LORD. Then Samuel dismissed the people to go to their own homes.
26 Saul also went to his home in Gibeah, accompanied by valiant men whose hearts God had touched.
27 But some scoundrels said, “How can this fellow save us?” They despised him and brought him no gifts. But Saul kept silent.

We have just witnessed a historical moment in Malaysia, a moment which every Malaysian can be so proud of to share with our generations to come. Indeed, prayers were answered, hard long battles fought & won and a hope held on to for decades realised. What lies ahead of us are continuous diligence, dedication, vigilant check and balance, speaking up to ensure Government of the day is accountable to the people and most importantly constant dependance on God (and not on politicians) by praying, fasting and intercession. I Timothy 1 verses 1-4 say, "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, Who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth". Learning from the prophet Samuel from the above passage, the Government of the day ought to refer, abide by and comply with the rules of the land, just as Samuel put into writing the rights and duties of kingship which he deposited it BEFORE THE LORD. How pertinent that each politician recognises that they are to perform their duties as if they are serving the Almighty God. We are to pray for our leaders that they are surrounded by valiant men and women whose hearts God has touched and not to be perturbed by critics. God Bless Malaysia. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC #09052018 #PRU14 #HistoricMoments #NewMalaysia #devotion #intercession #prayers
