Day 168 - Pray For Malaysia
Read: Psalm 126; Proverbs 4:19-21; 1 Peter 3; 1 Samuel 8-9
1 Samuel 8-9
8v6: ..this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the LORD
9v16: ...the LORD had revealed this to Samuel: ".....I have looked on My people, for their cry has reached Me."
When Samuel was displeased, he prayed. How many of us do that? Instead of praying, we may complaint, talk to everyone except to God. Learning from Samuel, we must bring our displeasures over whatever matters to God. John 5:14 says that the boldness which we have toward Him is that if we ask anything according to His will, He listens to us. And the beauty of it all is revealed in subsequent verse in Chapter 9 verse 16 that when we cry to Him, our prayers and petitions would reach God and God will hear our cries. In such a time like this, a day before GE 14, let us come boldly before His throne of grace and justice that righteousness and good governance will reign and all forms of oppression, tyranny, deception and dictatorship will be defeated and destroyed. Let us fast and pray from now until the results are released. Even after the results are released, let us continue to stand in the gap to pray for peace, harmony and that the army and armed forces will remain neutral. On 6 June of 1944, US and its WWII allies launched the largest amphibious invasion in history that led to the unconditional surrender of the Germany in May 1945. Just a day before this Normandy victory, President Franklin D. Roosevelt addressed America via radio not to provide factual report for the events but asked his countrymen to join him in 600-word prayer he wrote himself. Let us do likewise, let us stop whatever we are doing TODAY at 12 noon and just cry out to God in UNITY and intercede for our beloved country Malaysia. *please go to my blog, contributortobless.blogspot.com to view the 600-word prayer. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC #devotion #loveMalaysia #prayforMalaysia #prayers #intercession
