Day 155 - Parents’ Desires Read: Psalm 119:121-128; Proverbs 3:14-16; Hebrews 8; Judges 7-8 Psalm 119:126 126 It is time for you to act, LORD; your law is being broken. Proverbs 3 13 Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, 16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Hebrews 8 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Every parent will like to know that all their instructions and advices are heeded by their children. If their children can even remember and store all their words of wisdom and advice in their mind and hearts, this will surely make their parents proud. This is what exactly God, our Heavenly Father’s desires as well. In fact, in Proverbs & Psalms, people of old have observed that those who find wisdo

Day 154 - God’s Presence is Sufficient Read: Psalm 119:113-120; Proverbs 3:11-13; Hebrews 7; Judges 5-6 Psalm 119:114 You are my hiding place and my shield…. Judges 6:12 & 16 12 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, "The Lord IS WITH YOU, you mighty man of valour!" 16 And the Lord said to him, "Surely I WILL BE WITH YOU, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.” If we notice from the verses above, the assurance that God gave to Gideon is just His presence. Emmanuel. Even in Psalms 119:14, the Psalmist just went to God as his hiding place and shield. And that is enough to me and in fact, more than enough, without which, I will not venture anything IF GOD IS NOT WITH ME. Same with Moses - when he was asked by God to go to the Promised Land - he insisted on ONE thing only i.e. that God must go with him (Exodus 35:15). God’s presence is the most important of all! Dear friends, long and desire God’s presence. The prom

Day 153 - Show Our Love to Jesus Read: Psalm 119:105-112; Proverbs 3:7-10; Hebrews 6; Judges 3-4 Proverbs 3:7-9 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. Hebrews 6:10-12 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. Christians know the extend of Jesus’ love to us. He loves us until to the extend of laying down His own life for us. Now, from the above passages which spell out one way to

Day 152 - Be Faithful To God Read: Psalm 119:97-104; Proverbs 3:4-6; Hebrews 5; Judges 1-2 Judges 2 2 And you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars.' But you have not obeyed My voice. Why have you done this? 10 When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel. 11 Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the Baals; 12 and they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; and they followed other gods from among the gods of the people who were all around them, and they bowed down to them; and they provoked the Lord to anger. Proverbs 3:3-6 “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Day 151 - Make a Promise to God Read: Psalm 119:89-96; Proverbs 3:1-3; Hebrews 4; Joshua 23-24 Joshua 24 24 And the people said to Joshua, "The Lord our God we will serve, and His voice we will obey!” 27 And Joshua said to all the people, "Behold, this stone shall be a witness to us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord which He spoke to us. It shall therefore be a witness to you, lest you deny your God.” Joshua used stone to be the witness between them. And the verse says that the stones had heard all the words that the Lord spoke to them. The stones shall be the witness in case the people deny God. This is interesting! To learn from this, we can literally use some stones and sign on the stones to set some remembrance for whatever promises that we make to God. Often times, we claim God’s promises to us. We need to make promises to God that we will serve Him and obey His voice. Why not start doing the same right now, being the beginning of the year? Mak
