Day 67: Psalm 47,  Proverbs 24:33-35, 1 Corinthians 3, Genesis 45-46

God Sent Me
But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life. And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it  was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and Lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. Genesis 45:5‭, ‬7‭-‬8 NKJV (http://bible.com/114/gen.45.5-8.NKJV)

Many a time when a disaster occurs, we may blame God or we are confused as to why the incident had to happened! We are unable to comprehend the situation. But the question to ask is not why but what - "what is it in store for me for Your glory?" In today's passage, Joseph son of Jacob was very wise to say that it was God who sent him before the brothers to preserve life and a posterity. What is our attitutde when we are going through a seemingly hard situation? Fix our eyes on Jesus and trust Him with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. In all our ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6). Helen Keller, at 19 months old, contracted an illness described by doctors as "an acute congestion of the stomach and the brain", which might have been scarlet fever or meningitis and this illness left her both deaf and blind. However, she rose to be a prolific author, well-traveled and outspoken in her convictions to campaigne for women's suffrage, labor rights, socialism, and other similar causes. She was inducted into the Alabama Women's Hall of Fame in 1971. She said, "Believe, when you are most unhappy, that there ia something for you to do in the world. So long as you can sweeten another's pain, life is not in vain". https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC (please click to view a visual)
