Day 179 - God Loves to Reward Us
Psalm 137; Proverbs 6:1-3; 2 John; 1 Samuel 30-31
2 John v8: Watch out that we do not lose what we have worked for but that we may be rewarded fully. v9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
Today as I look out of my room's window to the sky, my heart truly leaps with joy and thanksgiving for the blue sky and the fresh air that I can breathe in. God is just so good all the time. All the time, God is good. He just loves to reward us and give us the best. Apostle John in today's passage admonished us to keep watching out against any wrong teachings that may deceive us. We must continue to run ahead in this race by holding fast to the right and pure teaching from the Word of God that acknowledges Jesus Christ. Only when we have Jesus, we have our Heavenly Father (v9). We must not lose heart but long for the full rewards by God (v8). In Ephesians 4:7-8, it is promised that grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. Therefore it says, “When He ascended on high [which is now as Jesus has ascended and is at the right hand of God interceding for us] He led a host of captives, and He gave gifts to men.” For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). Henceforth, never ever give up our faith in Jesus Christ. The song, "You are my All in All" rings in my mind now.
Seeking You as a precious Jewel
Lord, to give up I'd be a fool
You are my all in all
