There are circumstances and events that will consume every bit of your energy. They're real and pressing, all-consuming and painful. No matter what you do, the situation is in the forefront of your mind. You simply can't shake it.  Your loved ones may be supportive but you cannot expect them to comfort you everytime the anxieties surface or the tears begin to flow. They get weary and so do you. It's in those times that you must draw upon God's comfort, strength and wisdom. Others will let you down but God never will. So call upon His unflagging love morning, noon and night - whenever you need him. He is always ready to help you. Read Psalm 55.

As David and his weary men fled from King Saul's relentless forces, they came to the Desert of Ziph, hoping they could hide and get some rest. Unfortunately, the people there were Saul's allies and they divulged David's covert location. Saul's soldiers closed in on David and all seemed lost. Whenever difficulties close in on you, you may feel as David did - defenseless, drained and discouraged. Everything seem to be working toward your defeat. Yet you must understand that God showed Himself stronger than Saul's army - they were forced to abandon their pursuit of David. No matter how tough your problems are, they're never as mighty as God is. Trust and obey Him - you'll see your troubles defeated. Read Psalm 54.

If you are serious about pursuing a deeper relationship with God, you will constantly battle with 'hurry.' Nobody was more in demand than Jesus yet He regularly withdrew Himself from activity for the sake of solitude and prayer. Hurry prevents us from receiving love from the Father. That's why Jesus never hurried. We are often drawn to hurry. It makes us feel important. It keeps the adrenaline pumping. What's the cure?  Solitude! After spending 40 days on the mountain with God, Moses returned to his people with a clear direction, new strength and the assurance that God was with him. (Exodus 24:18; 32:15 & 32) Today, are you feeling drained? Don't be in a hurry when spending time with God.
